Grey Power is an Advocacy Organization promoting the welfare and well-being of all adult citizens. Our mission is to be the appropriate voice for all New Zealanders.

The Rotorua association represents the views and aspirations of 1900+ citizens.

We bring the issues affecting our members to the attention of government, both local and national, and to the wider public in our local press. We also produce a newsletter quarterly with items of local interest.

Rotorua Grey Power is an important part of the Mid Northern Zone, from Coromandel in the north to Gisborne in the south, which gives added strength to the voice we have to promote the ideas for improvements to the day to day lives of older New Zealanders and, ultimately, all who live here.

COVID-19 is spread by respiratory droplets and even being in the same room as another person puts us at risk of transmission. Regardless of whether breathing through the nose or mouth, breathing poses a significant risk of spreading the virus.

The majority of people in the community will feel well and it is impossible for everyone to be tested – so currently no-one can know for certain whether or not they are carrying the virus at any moment. A fit and healthy person could spread the virus for up to 5 days before developing symptoms so there is no way to be certain that we are immune when breathing together in the same room.

The virus can survive for up to 72 hours outside the human body, on all kinds of inorganic surfaces such as handles, key boards, petrol pump nozzles, toilet paper, clothing, EFT-pos machines; so there is no way to be certain that our space and air is clean between callers, but we can work towards it. Every virus-hostile surface works in our favour. This is an unprecedented situation. Protect yourselves accordingly.  In doing so, you are helping to protect others.  If for you this means staying away, please let us know, and do so.  We will find another way to provide the service you need.

Some good news is that we now have Eft-pos operating at our office for any payments you need to make.
